Abstract

The altar is a composition of mixed styles, made up of elements from different historical periods. The structure of reredos and some of the paintings are characterised by Late Baroque style and they were funded in the 18th century (paintings of the "Coronation of the Virgin", "Ecce Homo" and "Our Lady of Sorrows"). Still, the elements of the late gothic triptych, dated at the beginning of the 16th century, comprising part of the temple furnishings, were used when the altar was being raised. The present shape and setting of the reredoses were also affected by the changes made during the temple renovation in 1877.
