Abstract

The epitaph is dedicated to Wiktor Adam Karol Kopff (1805-1889), born in Cracow. The deceased was a member of the Cracow Scientific Society, an appellate judge and senator of the Republic of Cracow. After the outbreak of the uprising in 1846, he refused to participate in the revolutionary government. After the incorporation of Cracow to Austria, he was assigned to the Court Committee as a clerk, and also became a member of the government censorship committee. In addition, he dealt with the adaptation of administrative and legal relations in the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth to the new organisation of the country.
