Abstract

The work belongs to the set of two confessionals from 1781. They are richly decorated with Rococo ornaments. In the finial there is a picture of Saint Peter shown with the attribute: two keys symbolising the keys to the Kingdom of God. The iconography of the painting in question focuses primarily on the scene from the life of the saint, which is explained by the cartouche below with a fragment of the Gospel according to Saint Matthew.
