Abstract
The tombstone addresses the theme of Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, which was one of the stages of the Passion of the Christ. The scene is a symbol of acceptance of fate, together with unavoidable suffering. This aspect makes it an appropriate and thoughtful theme of the tombstone of Józef Gabut, who died at an early age (1910-1933).
