Stations of the Cross constitute a set of representations commemorating the Christ's walk with the cross through the streets of Jerusalem, from Pilate's praetorium through Golgotha, until placing him in the tomb. Stations of the Cross was a regular church liturgy, practiced from the times of the Crusades to reflect 14 stations in Jerusalem. The paintings were created in the oil painting technique in 1847. The paintings were created by Wojciech Grzywiński, a painter whose numerous works are spread all over the region of Lesser Poland.
