The epitaph plaque of Józef Emanuel Jankowski, a distinguished rector at the Jagiellonian University, a doctor of both laws and professor of philosophy, was most likely made after his death in 1847. Its form refers to many works from the late Renaissance and early Baroque, including the epitaph plaque of Andrzej Czarnecki in the Church of St. Peter and Paul in Cracow (1649).
