The painting "St. Rosalia was painted by an unknown painter in the 18th century. Saint Rosalia (1130-1165 or 1170) lived a penitential life in a cave in Sicily. During a plague in Palermo in 1624, she appeared to a woman and revealed her burial place. After the relics were moved to the city, the epidemic ended. She was then considered the patroness of infectious diseases.
