The statues of apostles were created together with the altar in 1712. They were most probably created in the workshop of Anthony Frączkiewicz. Saint Paul was originally named Saul and was a zealous persecutor of Christians until his conversion. He suffered a martyr's death by decapitation with a sword, which is why it is his attribute.
