Abstract
The painting "St. Michael the Archangel" is located on the sliding panel of the high altar in the church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Krzeszów. The author of the work is unknown, however he undoubtedly used a graphic interpretation of the painting "Saint Michael Defeats Satan" by Rafael Santi in 1518 currently located in Louvre, which was created by the end of life of Rafael and was meant for the king of France, Francis I as a gift from the pope Leo X. The painting by Rafael was copied several times, which was affected by high position of the modern artist and promotion of works by means of graphics.
