The painting of St. Margaret was created probably in the second half of the 18th century. Margaret was a daughter of a pagan priest who converted to Christianity. She rejected advances of a Roman deputy since she chose faith. Because of that, she was imprisoned and tortured, and died of beheading. The saint's attribute is the dragon, because, according to legends, Satan appeared to her in the form of a dragon while she was imprisoned.
