Abstract

The altar was built for the chapel under the invocation of Our Lady, before 1765. Most likely it was made in the workshop of the Kornecki family of Gdów. In the years 1841-1843, it was rebuilt and complemented by new elements, however, its reredos was not subjected to any significant modifications. The reredos represents the aedicula type and uses motifs typical of Italian and Central European Baroque, such as radiant aureole in the altar finial, installed against the background of the window.
