Abstract
Sculptures of John the Evangelist and the Virgin Mary were built in the second half of the 17th century and they were placed on the Altar of the Crucifixion. St. John was a disciple of John the Baptist, and then a beloved disciple of Christ, who accompanied him until his death on the cross.
