A sculpture from the 19th century. Its attribution and the exact date of creation remain indefinite. It depicts the Christ Crucified and it refers to method of presenting a dead body of the Saviour - commenced already in the Middle Ages - emphasizing suffering and death by exposing wounds and the inertly lowered head. The name "crucifix" comes from the Latin word "crucifixus" and means "nailed to the cross."
