The painting with the representation of the Virgin Mary handing the rosary to Saint Dominic and Saint Catherine of Siena was created in the 19th century. It was modelled on a painting on the same subject located in the same church, which was created for the altar of Our Lady of the Rosary. Both use a baroque composition, but are painted in accordance with the 19th-century tendency to introduce simplified, smoothly rendered forms.
