Abstract
Probably the author of the painting of Madonna and the Child is Sebastian Stolarski, a painter from Myślenice, who worked in many churches in Western Galicia, often copying older works. The work in question also repeats the conventional compositional system, but the method of modeling of the face, treating the drapery and the colour scheme of the garments is already typical of the 19th-century painting.
