Abstract

The sculpture depicting Madonna and the Child was created in 1420s or 1430s. The statue was created in the region of Lesser Poland, which was proved in old literature and subsequently confirmed in contemporary references, where it was related to the sculpture from Jarząbka Nowa from ca. 1440, which was classified by Henryk Mędrek as an example of the so-called Pilsen type, as well as to the statue from Janowice. Information obtained during the monument's last conservation was used to restore the original appearance of the sculpture which has undergone multiple transformations throughout the ages, particularly in terms of form.
