Abstract

The 18th-century sculpture of undetermined authorship, stored in the church in Harbutowice, depicting the crucified Jesus refers to the method of showing the dead body of the Saviour originating from the Middle Ages, emphasising the suffering and death. It is characterised by baroque shaping of the form visible in the strong expression of a bent body and the face of Christ marked by the Passion.
