Abstract
The painting was made by reverend Józef Kaczmarczyk in 1923 in Cracow. The iconography of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus was developing from the 18th century. On the other hand, the only acceptable type of the image of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus was established only in 1891, and depicted Christ with a burning heart above his chest.
