The painting depicting Saint Sebastian, placed in altar finial of the southern altar, was created around 1777. Undoubtedly, the ultimate attribution of the work, which is attributed to both Szymon Kawalski and Imrich Jagušič, requires further research. Saint Sebastian is a Roman martyr, who died during the reign of Emperor Diocletian at the beginning of the 4th century. According to tradition, he was to be tied to a tree trunk and die from wounds inflicted by arrows fired by the archers. He is worshipped as a patron in infectious diseases, patron of shooters, soldiers, hunters and war invalids.
