Abstract

Image showing St. John of Nepomuk was brought from Silesia in the fifties of the twentieth century by father Czesław Pacyga. St. John of Nepomuk was a canon of the Collegiate Church of St. Giles in Prague. St John was tortured and his body was dropped from the Charles Bridge in Prague into the River Vltava after he had got involved into the fight between the Archbishop of Prague and the King Wenceslaus as he did not wanted to reveal the confession secret.
