The painting, whose authorship is unknown, was created in the 19th century and probably from the beginning it was intended for the side altar. Saint Anthony was portrayed in the traditional iconographic type as a young conventual in a Franciscan habit with Baby Jesus. The attributes surrounding him indicate his piety and chastity.
