The sculpture of St. Veronica was created along with a whole reredos around 1728. The iconography of the altar is entirely devoted to the theme of the Passion of Christ. Therefore, there are two saints connected with the Passion of Christ: St. Mary Magdalene on the left and St. Veronica on the right. According to tradition, St. Veronica is identified with a woman who wiped Christ's face on the Way of the Cross, thus receiving an imprint of his image on her veil. The sculpture was created in unknown sculpture workshop.
