The sculpture was created in the second half of the 19th century or in the early 20th century in the provincial workshop, what is evidenced by aggregated drapery of robes and anatomical details. St. Paul was presented holding a book in his hand which is a symbol of his participation in an Apostolic Mission. This attribute was present in the saint's iconography in the early-Christian art already.
