Abstract
A plate from the 18th century with unidentified attribution. The painting shows a detailed iconographic representation of soul suferring in Purgatory. The dramatic nature of the work is complemented by an imploring inscription placed on the bottom edge, which is a Polish paraphrase of a passage from the Book of Job "Have pity on me, my friends, have pity" (Job 19, 21).
