Abstract

The procession float was made in the 19th century. It shows two paintings: Crucifixion and St. Isidore the Farm Labourer Particularly noteworthy is the image of St. Isidore, the patron of farmers, who was portrayed in the Biórków painting in a typical iconographic tradition: kneeling in front of a wayside shrine – he is also accompanied by an angel, plowing the field for him in the distance. Interestingly, St. Isidore is portrayed in a typical Polish outfit, which proves that his cult has been integrated in Poland.
