The sculpture of Pensive Christ, located in the church in Orawka, was created in the second half of the 15th century. It depicts Christ in the last scene just before the crucifixion, sitting on a stone bench with his head resting on his hand, with a facial expression showing enormous sadness. The sculpture is one of the oldest preserved examples of this type of depictions in Lesser Poland. Representations of Pensive Christ appeared in Poland during the late Gothic era, at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries.
