Abstract

Research on furnishings of the church in Skawinki carried out so far, due to lack of archival records on the constructors, does not even try to determine a circle of potential authors of the reredoses. The altar was made at the beginning of 18th century. It represents the aedicula type, i.e. a single-storey, single-axis structure located on a pair of structural supports supporting the broken entablature, with an aureole in the altar finial. Its structure is based on models developed in modern art. The rederos is founded on a high pedestal with a main field flanked with supports. The sculptures that were placed near the gates were ade in the second half of 20th century. In the central area of the altar there is a painting of the Holy Family, and on the sliding panel – a Mystical Wedding of Saint Catherine and Our lady of the Immaculate Conception.
