Abstract

Father Aleksy Bocheński was a parish priest in Wadowice and he initiated the idea of construction of the church in Ponikwia. The portrait in question was created after the commencement of his service in Wadowice, but before its cessation. Therefore it was made within the period between 18 August 1849 and 4 March 1893. It has features of the 19th century's painting.
