The rood crucifix in St. John Cantius Church in Kęty was most likely made in the first half of the 18th century, similarly to most furnishings of the church. The work presents a set of features that characterise the visual arts of the mature Baroque period, thus constituting an item distinct in terms of its technique from the pair of assistant statues – Virgin Mary and St. John the Evangelist – made in a local, provincial workshop.
