One of the most common themes in the sacred painting of the 19th century of western Lesser Poland and Silesia border is the image of Ecce Homo, most probably inspired by a deeply worshipped painting located in a sanctuary in Bielany. The painting, kept at the church in Gruszów, was created at the workshop of one of the 19th century painters from Żywiec, Antoni Krząstkiewicz, whose work focused mostly on sacral themes.
