The Saint John the Evangelist's statue in the Crucifixion Group in the church in Spytkowice was created in the 1750s or 1760s, during the modernisation of the church carried out on the initiative of father Jan Skinderowicz. Its creator might have been Cracovian sculptor Michał Dobkowski – the author of side altars, employed at that time by parish priest.
