Sculpture of St. Martin was made in the second half of the 19th century or in the early 20th century. It represents St. Martin who letft the army of Constantine in Gaul and became a disciple of Hilary of Poitiers in 356. According to legend, he was to share his coat with the poor, which is why he is often depicted in iconography as a soldier sitting on a horse and cutting his coat with a sword for the poor.
