A sculpture of Pensive Christ, located in the church in Giebułtów, was created in 16th century. It depicts Christ sitting on a stone bench, his head resting on his hand with an expression of enormous sadness on his face, in the last scene just before the crucifixion. The sculpture is one of the oldest preserved examples of this type of representations in Lesser Poland. Representations of Pensive Christ appeared in Poland during the late Gothic period, i.e. at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries.
