Abstract
Mary's sculpture is stylistically consistent with the statue of Saint John the Evangelist. Both were created in the Lesser Poland workshop at the end of the 15th or the beginning of the 16th century. The way of shaping of the face and the arrangement of the robes refer to the works of Veit Stoss, author of St. Mary's Altar. The study from all sides indicates that it was probably made as one of the statues of the Crucifixion Group and intended to be placed on the rood beam of the gothic church.
