The painting "Misericordia Domini" was created in the workshop of an unidentified Cracovian painter in the last quarter of the 15th century. According to tradition, St. John Cantius, professor at the Cracow University, prayed before it. The iconographic type of the painting expresses Mary's suffering with Christ during his Passion, as well as her participation in the work of Salvation.
