The painting created at the turn of the 19th and the 20th century shows the scene of St. Adalbert's martyr's death during his mission to convert pagans in Prussia. Unfortunately, the attribution of this work is unknown. Saint Adalbert lived in 956-997. He was a Bishop of Prague. In 997, he set off to Poland and then to Prussia in order to convert pagans. He suffered a martyr's death, probably pierced with spears.
