The painting "Dormition of the Virgin" was created around 1530. It was originally located in the altar of the Transfiguration in the St. Anne's church in Cracow. The painting was brought to Mszana Dolna in 1689 by parish priest Jan Kazimierz Bełza. Jerzy Szablowski considered the painting as a distant example showing the influence of a middle part of Veit Stoss' polyptych. In composition terms, instead, he highlighted the similarities with a central scene of the Bodzentyn triptych, funded by bishop Jan Konarski. For closer analogies, he also mentioned the painting of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located at the National Museum in Warsaw and the painting in Chodów (Poviat of Miechów).
