Christ on the Cross was made of ivory, most probably in the second half of the 17th century. It belongs to the iconographic type "Cristo vivo" – the Living Christ. This type is distinguished by the way of depicting the leaned back head, raised eyes and open mouth with visible teeth and tongue.
