Abstract

Many years of discussion took place in terms of the dating of the sculpture of the Christ Crucified, currently located in the side, neo-gothic altar of the church of Saint Clement. Initially referred to as gothic, it is now considered rather a product from the 17th or 18th century. Certainly it hung for some time in the high altar, but in 1858 it was moved to the newly built neo-gothic altar located in the nave and joined in a group with the gothic sculptures of Mary and Saint John.
