The painting of Saint James placed in the high altar comes from the first quarter of the 18th century. Unfortunately, the author of the work is unknown. Saint James was shown with traditional attributes: a stick with a skin bottle and shells on a pilgrim's mantle. This modern image refers to the legend according to which the Holy Mother was to appear on the pillar in Saragossa (Madonna del Pilar), encouraging him to continue his apostolic mission in this area. Currently, it is the largest sanctuary in Spain, the so-called Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar.
