Abstract

The rococo pulpit was built in the third quarter of the 18th century in an unknown sculptural workshop, probably the same one that made the set of altars in the church. The pulpit is characterised by the rococo decoration - typical of the period, as well as lofty structure and fanciful panel on back in the shape of a standing rectangle with concave sides, closed with a concave-convex arch with offsets and lower corners cut out (concave). Particularly interesting is the use of a large flame vase in the crown of the pulpit, which replaced the cross or figure typically found there. The remaining decoration of the pulpit is typical for many monuments of this type from the area of Lesser Poland. A canopy intrados is decorated with the relief with the representation of the Holy Spirit, and the back with representation of Christ as the Good Shepherd.
