The image of the Mother of God in the parish church in Tenczyn was placed in the side altar. It is worshipped, decorated with crowns and robes made of repousséd sheeting. Iconographically, it is modelled on the popular image of the Roman prototype - the miraculous image of Our Lady of the Snows, called Salus Populi Romani from the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. This image is strongly associated with the rosary service; in the Polish Commonwealth represented by numerous copies, some brought directly from Rome. Unfortunately, the origin and authorship of the painting in Tenczyn are unknown.
