Abstract
The image of the Mother of God in the high altar of the church in Lachowice is a copy of the miraculous image in the church in nearby Rychwałd, which imitates the medieval type of the Madonna of Doudleby, known in Poland as Madonna of Piekary. It represents the iconographic type of the oldest cult of the Mary's image called Hodegetria.
